You’ll get to spend some quality time with Ms. von Gal before she speaks to our members at the meeting later that night.\nYou’ll also get to listen to her suggestions as she tours the gardens and offers her own suggestions on how to make the property even more earth-friendly.\nEdwina von Gal is the founder of the Perfect Earth Project\, a non-profit organization in East Hampton\, NY that raises consciousness about the dangers of synthetic lawn and garden chemicals to humans\, animals\, and the environment\, and educates homeowners and professionals about natural\, PRFCT (toxic-free) techniques that provide beautiful\, safe results at no extra cost.The principal of her eponymous landscape design firm since 1984\, her work has been published in many major publications and her book Fresh Cuts won the Quill and Trowel award for garden writing in 1998.\nThe event is $25 per person and includes a light dinner and refreshments. DESCRIPTION:This workshop is sold out but you can add your name to the waiting list by emailing office@cthort.org. \nJoin us for a “Pinching Perennials” Workshop with Nancy DuBrule-Clemente on June 17 from 1-2 pm at Natureworks\, 518 Forest Road\, Northford. \nJoin Nancy DuBrule-Clemente in the Natureworks Teaching Tent and Gardens for a talk and hands-on demonstration of how and why you should pinch back your perennials in June. \nBased on the book\, The Well Tended Perennial Garden by Tracy Disabato-Aust\, learn why Nancy always says\, “If you aren’t walking out of your garden in June with tarp loads of garden clippings\, then you aren’t being brave enough!” \nYou will be taught why pinching back reduces staking and how it can double or triple the bloom time of your late summer and fall perennials. \nThe workshop is $20 and includes cold drinks and a comprehensive handout.
