Native Plant Trust open for the season, offering programs

May 26, 2022

Native Plant Trust, the nation’s first plant conservation organization and the only one solely focused on New England’s native plants, has opened its renowned botanic garden often described as magical, visitors will find naturalistic plant collections that showcase New England native plants with complimentary specimens from across the country.

“Garden in the Woods encompasses 45 acres sculpted by retreating glaciers into eskers, steep-sided valleys, and a kettle pond. Here you’ll find inspiration for your own garden and a new appreciation for the plant life of our region,” notes Uli Lorimer, Director of Horticulture at Native Plant Trust.

Along with the Garden opening, 100 educational programs, including many new this season, are now open for registration. Programs are offered in person and online. Register now at www.NativePlantTrust.org.

Program highlights include:

â—Ź Live author talks with Uli Lorimer featuring his forthcoming book, The Northeast Native Plant Primer: 235 Plants for an Earth-Friendly Garden (Timber Press) on June 10 and September 14
â—Ź Orchids of New England (July 23, 2022)
â—Ź Online versions of Native Plant Studies Certificate courses
â—Ź New field and landscape studies across the region.

Many programs are eligible for continuing education credits for professionals in conservation, horticulture, landscape, and arboriculture. For more information and to register for programs, visit www.NativePlantTrust.org.
