Hardy Plant Chapter to hold spring bulb workshop Oct. 25

The Hardy Plant Society of New England-CT Chapter is holding an unusual workshop to create spring bulb kokedama on Wed., Oct. 25 art 7pm. It will be at the Wethersfield Academy for the Arts, 431 Hartford Avenue, Wethersfield, CT

Kokedama is a Japanese gardening form whereby a plant’s roots are encased in moss which is wrapped in twine. They will be planting Galanthus nivalis ‘Flore Pleno’ (double snow drop) bulbs. The moss covered balls can then be wintered over in a garage or other cold place for vernalization and, in late winter, moved to a place of prominence for decoration and to be admired.

All materials will be supplied. Please register ahead at [email protected] so they can guarantee enough supplies. Free to members, $10 for non-members.
