Hardy Plant Society presents “Good Growers and Pretty Companions” Nov. 4

The Connecticut Daylily Society has invited Marlene & Carl Harmon of Harmon Hill daylily Farms in Hudson, NH, to come share with us about “Good Growers and Pretty Companions”. The program will be held at the Avon Senior Center, 375 West Avon Road, Avon, CT on Saturday, November 4. Social hour with light refreshments will take place from 12 to 1 pm, followed by a quick show & tell and announcements, and then an hour with the Harmons! This busy couple has a gorgeous sales garden and beautiful slides. You can get answers to your questions, meet fellow enthusiasts, hear expert speakers on the latest in fancy daylilies, win door prizes, and enjoy some light refreshments!

The club sponsors two more meetings before our sale in mid-May where we sell bareroot plants from our own gardens at reasonable prices. Members host open gardens and an annual picnic at peak bloom. We sometimes even go on field trips! There are no dues for our local club, but the national society has dues. When you join the AHS, you get a great magazine and can go to terrific Regional and National meetings. We also can provide speakers and demonstrations for your club.
