Native Plant Trust, the nation’s first plant conservation organization and the only one solely focused on New
England’s native plants, will celebrate its ninth annual Trillium Week at Garden in the Woods, its native plant botanic garden in Framingham, May 12-19, 2024.
Trilliums have a unique beauty symbolically associated with honor, purity, and devotion. Although relatively easy to cultivate, trilliums do require patience and a steady hand, as they are slow growers that build strength and reserves year after year.
Program highlights include free drop-in tours of the award-winning trillium collection (May 15, 17, 18, and 19). A self-guided audio tour of the trillium collection at Garden in the Woods is available on the Native Plant Trust app, which can be downloaded from any app store Twilight Trilliums is the signature event celebrating trilliums and provides an opportunity to stroll the Garden after hours. Garden admission and light refreshments are included with registration. “We are once again excited to welcome the public to our annual evening program celebrating our beloved trillium collection,” says Bess Paupeck, Director of Public Programs at Native Plant Trust. “Enjoy light refreshments and the sounds of jazz as you wander through the garden on a spring evening, experiencing the beauty of spring ephemerals.”
