The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects‘s own Mark Morrison, FASLA, founder of MKM Landscape Architecture, will be the host for a one-of-a-kind Cultural Landscape Foundation Garden (Tool) Dialogue event in Wassaic, NY on September 28 (10 a.m.-12 p.m.).
Have you ever seen a cucumber straightener, daisy grubber, or potato fork? They are among the more than 25,000 items in the remarkable (and delightfully offbeat) Morrison Gallery of Vintage Gardening Tools. The collection, which Mark has curated and thoughtfully displayed, includes extremely rare gardening tools and related ephemera from the 1600s to the present day. Morrison will share his passion and insights into his collection, with entertaining anecdotes and stories that contextualize the tools and reveal their historical significance and impact on gardening practices over the centuries.
