The bee and butterfly populations have declined precipitously over the past decade. In this slide lecture, Louise Washer will offer insight, exploration, science and how-to’s — all dedicated to protecting our pollinators. In 2017 she co-founded the Pollinator Pathway, a grassroots effort to encourage residents and municipalities to restore and connect pollinator habitat by planting native plants, avoiding pesticides, and rethinking lawn culture. A graduate of Smith College and a former magazine editor and writer, she is president of the Norwalk River Watershed Association. She also serves on the Norwalk Mayor’s Water Quality Committee and the Hudson to Housatonic Regional Conservation Partnership (H2H). Today the Pollinator Pathway has grown to include over 325 communities across 11 states.
