Volunteers wanted to plant daffodils

Friends of the Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial, a new 501(c)3 organization (press release), is planning its first community event on November 15, and is seeking volunteers to help plant 3,000 daffodils along the entry drive to the memorial from 10 a.m.-1p.m.
It is recommended that volunteers bring a bottle of water, garden gloves, and a kneeling pad if desired. Tools will be provided.
Parking will be available in the lot behind the Sandy Hook Firehouse (18-20 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook). Please visit the website to find more information and access the volunteer sign-up form. You can also join the Friends’ mailing list, make a donation, or learn more about the memorial and its plantings on the website. The Friends’ mission is to ensure that the memorial remains a vibrant, sacred place of reflection, remembrance, and healing for generations to come.
