Join us for a Native Plant Workshop to learn how native plants support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, with free plants for attendees
Join the Eastern Connecticut Watershed Network in partnership with Wild Ones and Otis Library for a Native Plant Workshop focused on how native plants support pollinators, improve soil and water health, and create more resilient landscapes.
This workshop will explore the importance of native plants and their critical role in local ecosystems. Participants will learn how native species support food webs, provide habitat for pollinators and wildlife, manage stormwater runoff, and contribute to healthy soil and water systems. The session will also cover practical considerations for incorporating native plants into the landscape, including how to choose the right plants for your site and maintain them over time.
This workshop is designed as a full session and will include an approximately one hour presentation, followed by time for questions and discussion and selecting native plants to take home. If you anticipate arriving late or needing to leave early, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Whether you are new to native gardening or looking to build on your knowledge, this workshop offers actionable, real-world guidance that can be applied at home or in your community.
All attendees will receive free native plants to take home, including a variety of pollinator favorites plants and other native species, while supplies last.
