ASLA to hold networking event June 20

The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects & Torrison Stone & Garden present Fire & Light: Illuminating Landscapes, an evening of networking, food, fun and some CEUS, on Thursday, June 20 from 4-7 pm. The event is at Torrison Stone & Garden Showroom, 422 Main Street, Durham, CT. Registration: $25.

The event includes:
4:00 p.m.: Snacks and networking out in the yard / Transition to indoor Showroom / Tap Room
4:30 p.m.: Presentation: “Playing with Fire: Creating Warm and Happy Customers” — Shaun Huggins, Regional Sales Manager for Ray Murray Inc., will explore the world of gas ignition systems and design considerations of gas fireplaces and fire pits. Essential safety considerations will be discussed, including proper ventilation, appliance clearances, and media placement.
5:30: Presentation: “Outdoor Lighting” — Bob Isleib, owner of RLI Electric and a licensed electrical contractor, will present a basic overview of landscape lighting, fixture types, design intent, electrical code, and safety.
6:30: More fun and food, and CTASLA’s Rapid Fire Cornhole Championship!
Approved for 2.0 PDH/HSW LA CES credits.
