Merrie Avallone is a Connecticut flower farmer who specializes in growing dahlias. With more than 30 years of gardening experience, she cultivates a wide collection of varieties on her farm and sells dahlia tubers to gardeners across the country. Merrie grows using organic, sustainable practices and is passionate about helping others successfully grow and enjoy these extraordinary flowers. She loves sharing practical knowledge—from selecting varieties to growing healthy plants and harvesting armfuls of blooms. When she’s not in the field, she’s planning the next season, photographing her flowers, or managing the many projects involved in building her family’s flower farm and home.
